27/8/12 - There is a lake hid far among the hills,
That raves around the throne of solitude,
Not fed by gentle streams, or playful rills,
But headlong cataract and rushing flood.
There, gleam no lovely hues of hanging wood,
No spot of sunshine lights her sullen side;
For horror shaped the wild in wrathful mood,
And o'er the tempest heaved the mountain's pride.
If thou art one, in dark presumption blind,
Who vainly deem'st no spirit like to thine,
That lofty genius deifies thy mind,
Fall prostrate here at Nature's stormy shrine,
And as the thunderous scene disturbs thy heart,
Lift thy changed eye, and own how low thou art.

Day 607 - The Banks of Wast Water
Sunday, 26 August 2012
Day 606 - Of Herbs and Stewed Rabbit
26/8/12 - This looks like a scene from a Lord of the Rings book novel so I gave it a suitable Tolkien sounding title. It was actually a little pathway near a campsite I stayed at recently.

Day 605 - Sunset
25/8/12 - Sunset on the drive home from the Lake District, I took this while we were driving along the M40 (I was not driving)
Day 604 - Orchard Wood and Beyond
24/8/12 - The Campsite we stayed at during our trip to the Lake District was just behind this woodland on the banks of Buttermere.
Day 603 - Lakeside Walk
23/8/12 - I have named this photo Lakeside Walk, however I must add that Buttermere is NOT a Lake, it is of course a Mere, there is only one Lake in the Lake District and that is Bassenthwaite Lake, All the others are Meres, Tarns, Waters and Reservoirs.
Day 602 - Buttermere
22/8/12 - Buttermere is beautiful, I have not seen many of the other meres, lakes or waters in the Lake District but I feel I can say that Buttermere is one of the most beautiful places in the UK.
Day 601 - I DO Smile
21/8/12 - Here I am at Buttermere, My mate Chris was stood there being an idiot and making me laugh while I tried to take this so for those of you who think I never smile, here is the proof that I do.
Day 600 - Starry Starry Night
20/8/12 - It stayed cloudy for most of the time we were camping in the Lake District but one night I took a look out and saw clear skies so grabbed the chance to get a quick photo.
Day 599 - Wall
19/8/12 - Here is one of those things I like to photograph, I find walls interesting for some reason, along with doors, windows and Bus timetables (I lied about the Bus Timetables)

Day 596 - Mountain Completed
16/8/12 - Here I am with my 2 aching legs at the bottom of Scafell Pike after an amazing climb to the top.
Day 595 - MOOOOO
15/8/12 - Its nice to have some company while out climbing mountains, its a shame I don't speak cow.
Day 594 - Wasdale Head
14/8/12 - The Village of Wasdale head (in the distance of this photo) is the closest village to Scafell Pike and the main place to start the climb, it is a hive of activity with 2 pubs, a shop and some toilets, they even have electricity now :oP.
Day 593 - The Decent
13/8/12 - Here is Chris and Amy during the decent of Scafell Pike, it was hard walking down over the rocks and boulders, I had to watch where I was stepping but I had to stop once in a while to look up at the amazing views.
Day 592 - At The Summit
12/8/12 - After 3 hours of walking we made it to the very cold summit of Scafell Pike (I may look glum but I am actually happy, I just had a mouthful of chocolate bar). Over my left shoulder is Chris and Amy and over my right shoulder is the top of Scafell pike.
Day 591 - Cloud
11/8/12 - The summit of Scafell Pike was totally covered in cloud, this I would imagine is not unusual but at least it stayed dry for the climb.

Day 590 - Bear Chris
10/8/12 - Here is one of my best mates Chris (Bear as in Bear Grylls) he is a real outdoor adventure kinda guy and is always wanting to climb something.
Day 589 - The Path Ahead
9/8/12 - Here is the path going up Scafell Pike, this was quite easy compared to some of the rock strewn paths ahead.
Day 588 - Mountain Companions
8/8/12 - Here are Chris and Amy who joined me on my climbing and camping adventure in the Lake District.
Day 587 - Wast Water
7/8/12 - I recently had the opportunity to go camping and climbing with 2 friends, The camping was to be in the lake district and the climb was to the summit of Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England. We started our hike up the mountain from Wasdale Head, and this is the view that we saw soon into the walk.

Day 584 - Olympic Volleyball
4/8/12 - Here I am at the semi finals for the Olympic Volleyball in Earls Court, I was lucky enough to grab a ticket and it turned out to be a front row seat.
The match was USA v Korea, it was a very exciting match and I have never seen a volleyball match before but was gripped from the start. I will not tell you who won but Korea came a close second.

Day 583 - Polly Joke
3/8/12 - When Phil told me about a beach called Polly Joke I did indeed think it was a joke, however here it is in all its glory, its not far from Newquay and it quite a lovely place.
Day 582 - Sideways Rob
2/8/12 - Just playing around with the camera here while at Perranporth beach. I am surprised all that sand didn't land on me.
Day 581 - Life on the Beach
1/8/12 - It always amazes me how much life there is on a beach, both flora and fauna. During a walk along Perranporth beach we must have seen millions of sand hoppers, plenty of birds feasting on the sand hoppers, and loads of plants clinging to the rocks and cliffs.
Day 580 - On the Beach
Day 579 - Perranporth
30/7/12 - Perrenporth beach is one of my favourite places in the world, The beach is 2 miles long and this is the first time I have seen it at full tide, at low tide the beach is huge. I just love walking to the other end of this beach, the sky always looks so much bigger when out on the sand.
Day 578 - Porthcurno
29/7/12 - Here I am at another small beach not far from Lands End, This is Porthcurno, most famous for being the main site in the uk where submarine telecommunication cables entered the UK, the first ones in 1870 went all the way to India.

Day 577 - Chelsea Cornwall
28/7/12 - Here is another shot from Porthgwarra (I love Cornish names), it is such a beautiful part of the world, even in the height of summer holidays there were very few people around, its such a quiet place.
Day 576 - Porthcurno Steps
27/7/12 - I saw these steps during a visit to Porthcurno beach in Cornwall, its a very popular beach despite being a long way from anywhere populated.
Day 575 - Porthgwarra
26/7/12 - I am back down in Cornwall again, I love it here and this time I visited a little place called Porthgwarra just along the coast from Lands End. This was one of the first places I came to when I first came to Cornwall and always brings back good memories.
