18/4/12 - This is the Maritime Museum in La Rochelle, we didn't get time to venture on board (an I don't think it was open) but i really liked the idea that a Maritime museum is on a ship (well 3 ships actually).

Day 473 - Tower de la Chaîne
16/4/12 - Here are 2 of the towers in La Rochelle, the tower on the chain i so called because it had a chain which could be pulled across the harbour entrance, the tower with the pointy roof is called the Lanterne and used to be a lighthouse.

Day 472 - Rob In Another Dimension
15/4/12 - I have seen this kind of idea a few times recently and thought I would have a go at doing something similar.

Day 471 - La Rochelle Feu Antérieur
14/4/12 - This is one of the many lighthouses in the La Rochelle area, the Feu Antérieur sits right on the entrance to the harbour.

Day 470 - Porte de la Grosse Horloge
13/4/04 - It was just here we stopped to have the most amazing crepes, I successfully asked for them in the best French I could manage and a small crowd soon gathered to watch, have people never seen crepes being made before?

Day 468 - La Rochelle
11/4/12 - This is La Rochelle, didn't know what to expect from this town before we arrived, but I can honestly say that its beautiful here, such a lovely place, the people are nice, the architecture is amazing and the food (crepes) was nice. I loved it here and could stay here a lot longer.

Day 465 - Magnifico
8/4/12 - Here is the Guggenheim museum in Bilbao, Spain, its such an awesome building, it must be a nightmare to have to design something like this.
Saturday, 7 April 2012
Day 464 - Tulips
7/4/12 - This is one of the few items of 'so called' art in the Guggenheim museum I liked, its a sculpture called tulips and is a giant version of a balloon model.

Day 463 - Guggenheim
6/4/12 - Here is the inside of the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain. The Building designed by Frank Gehry is really amazing, an architectural wonder of the modern age, I could explore the building for hours.
The contents of the building however is very questionable, I will upset some art lovers here, sadly the Guggenheim museum contains very little art, balancing a mirror against a wall is NOT art, painting a series of black squares is NOT art and a string of fairy lights is NOT art.
The Guggenheim gets 10/10 for architecture but fails miserably at hosting any art with a harsh but honest score of 1/10. Solomon R Guggenheim would spin in his grave if he saw the rubbish in his buildings.
The toilets are pretty so its worth paying the €11 to see them.
